Student Visionary of the Year
Student Visionary of the Year is awarded to the candidate/candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the 7-week fundraising period.
Mission Awards
The Mission Awards aim to recognize Student Visionaries of the Year Candidates in (3) areas: Research, Patient Education & Support, and Policy & Advocacy.

Research
The candidate team that leads the way by not only spreading awareness about LLS's research but also be demonstrating the spirit of LLS's innovative research strategy.
For instance:
Including messaging about LLS's research investments and/or advances (ex. BeatAML, CAR-T)
Demonstrating innovation throughout the campaign. For example, in areas of campaign team member engagement and motivation
Leading as an unstoppable innovator by bringing new groups to their fundraising campaigns to help raise funds to fuel the most promising blood cancer research
Pursuing a diverse range of avenues of fundraising, to best fit their campaign (ex. letters, sponsorships, DAF's, stocks, etc.)
Highlight the ways that blood cancer research is being used to help fight other form of cancers (Driving Impact Beyond Blood Cancers)

Patient Education & Support
This candidate team goes above and beyond by infusing the impact of LLS's patient support & education services as part of their campaign.
For instance:
Including messaging about our patient education & support services (ex. IRC, Clinical Trial Support Center, Financial Assistance, etc.)
Engaging or including key healthcare workers as part of their campaign team
Creating stronger ties between the healthcare community & LLS
Work with your team to make cards for cancer patients in our community or for our Honored Heroes Piper, Lucan, and Charlie

Policy & Advocacy
This candidate team leads the way in spreading awareness about LLS's mission and engaged a variety of audiences.
For instance:
Creating extensive awareness of LLS through diverse areas of social media, community awareness, and events
Engaging new/different and diverse groups with the campaign and LLS's mission
Leaving no stone unturned in the fight for equity in healthcare, engaging team members and the community to sign up for LLS's Action Network
Email, write letters/postcards, or call North Carolina legislative offices to advocate for policies that help cancer patients and their families

Mission Impact Portfolio Linking
Candidate teams who meet certain fundraising milestones have the opportunity to link their team name to one of LLS's portfolios.
$50,000 - Hero Award
WHO: Any individual fundraiser or donor. This includes candidates, honorary candidates, individual team members, honorees, sponsors, and individual participants. This DOES include a candidate's team fundraising.
RECOGNITION
A one-time progress report for the entire portfolio
Listing in the Annual Report
A customized blood drop award will be made for the individual fundraiser or team leader
$100,000 - Impact Award
WHO: Any individual, team, company or organization raising or donation $100,000. This level is cumulative, one portfolio linkage per $100,000 raised. Ex: If a team raises $200K, the team would qualify for (2) portfolio linking opportunities for that year.
RECOGNITION
An annual progress report for the entire portfolio
Listing in the Annual Report
A customized blood drop award will be made for the individual fundraiser or team leader
SVOY Candidate Hall of Fame
The Candidate Hall of Fame is an elite group of students who have gotten an early start on their campaign. To qualify ALL tasks must be completed BY KICK OFF FRIDAY, JANUARY 17, 2025 @ 4 PM CT (unless otherwise stated).
