Stephanie Arnold
Past STL Woman of the Year Candidate, LLS Board Member, and Long Time Volunteer
Hi! I’m Stephanie Arnold and have been volunteering with and fundraising with LLS for over 20 years in a wide variety of capacities! I’m currently a member of the Board of Trustees for the Lower Plains Region and have spent my last few years focused on supporting the Student Visionaries campaign. My passion for helping fund blood cancer research and patient assistance is very personal for me. I lost my dad to leukemia in 2005 after a courageous 20 year fight. My grandfather also died of leukemia in the 1940s. Most recently, I lost a dear friend and colleague in 2022 to an aggressive form of leukemia that “outsmarted” the current chemotherapy drugs available. It’s important to me to keep fighting for all those we’ve lost and those who continue the fight each day!
I’m a proud dog mom to an adorable Zuchon pup named Molly and a proud aunt to my amazing 17 year old niece, Lily, who recently participated as a team member in the LLS Student Visionaries campaign. In my spare time, I love hosting get-togethers on my patio for friends, family and neighbors, riding my Peloton with my “power posse,” and taking my pup for walks around the neighborhood.
I’m a graduate of Saint Louis University and love continuing to give back to the school community each year as part of the Presidential Scholarship interview team and guest lecturing. I’ve used my business degree from SLU in a variety of roles that have taken me from St. Louis to San Francisco, to Los Angeles and, eventually, back home to St. Louis again. I currently work as a consultant and board member for a variety of consumer brands, helping them develop and execute their commercial strategies and grow their businesses through venture capital and private equity investment periods. I’ve been fortunate over the past 25 years of my career to have been able to travel to many places in the world and meet incredible people along the way.
Susan Saenger
Parent of the 2023 STL Student Visionary of the Year
Susan received her BA in Economics from Rollins College and MBA from Boston University. She spent 12 years as a Financial and Decision Support consultant in the healthcare industry where she implemented cost accounting and reimbursement management systems and eventually managed the 250+ hospital client account among many others. For the last 17 years, Susan has focused her efforts as a stay-at-home mom as well as in philanthropic endeavors she’s passionate about.
Susan’s passion for the mission of LLS is incredibly close to her heart. At 2 months old, her daughter was diagnosed with leukemia. Upon diagnosis, Susan learned there was only one – just one - protocol for treatment. After 8 months working with multiple doctors and complications, Susan’s daughter lost her battle. Fast forward 13 years, and Susan’s oldest daughter, Audrey, embraced her passion and irrevocable impact made by leukemia to her life and participated in the LLS St. Louis Student Visionaries of the Year campaign. With the help of her family and team, Lydia’s Angels, Audrey raised an astounding $113,000, won the Patient Support Mission Award, and was named the 2023 St. Louis Student Visionary Award.
